Thalia Aetnos is an original character created to run in the SCION tabletop RPG setting, which belongs to Onyx Path Publishing. No profit whatsoever is being made from her appearances anywhere.
She is a daughter of Hephaestus, crafted by the god as a newborn and given to a mother whose marriage was on the rocks and who was desperate for a child. Her mother's marriage fell apart and her mother wound up coping with alcohol. By the time she was thirteen, Thalia was already working multiple jobs to support her mother, her uncanny skill with technology keeping them just ahead of the debt collectors.
When Thalia was thirty, her mother died of liver cancer. When she was thirty-one, her divine father saved her life and reforged her in phoenix fire, awakening the divinity in her blood. The warehouse burned to the ground, but she walked from it unharmed, into a world made anew by her new understanding.
She's a mechanic and a healer, a fixer of things and people. She can throw fire, mend anything, and even raise the dead. (Although she doesn't realize that's what she's doing, and the limitations on the ability are quite strict.) She's also immune to disease or poison unless it's been created by someone or something at least as magically potent as she is. She can also technically do without food, water, or sleep indefinitely, although this gets increasingly UNPLEASANT over time.
Thanks to Harry Dresden, his friend Bob the Skill, and Rory's acquaintance Alec, she knows that she was cursed shortly after she turned 10 by Aphrodite. Over time, the curse twists the many kinds of love that others might feel toward her into hatred, resentment, or indifference. Feels of lust are transformed within seconds of physical contact into disgust that is sometimes violent. Thankfully, the curse does not function in Milliways, nor does it function on anyone with magic in them.
Living with the curse has, understandably, left her with mental and emotional scars. She has been suicidal at times, and has issues with feelings of self-worth.
Thalia is relatively short, at 5 foot 4, but she works out and has done a lot of heavy labor. She has a magical tattoo on her back of phoenix wings and she carries a magical hammer, both made by her father. She's as physically and mentally tough as it's possible for a human to be.
